Jurkovic proved to be a top-10 car during multiple practice sessions on Thursday and Friday, but an ill-handling car in Saturday’s qualifying session relegated the 41-year-old driver to a 28th starting position for Sunday’s 300-lap race. It came from the pits, the drivers, car owners, crew members and fans. A crystal vase presented to Bill and Ginny Bryant the founders of Bryant Motorsports, and owners of 5 Flags Speedway. Dan VanderLey represented the owners and crews and fans’ David Ragan was the spokesperson for the 200 plus drivers who participated. Both lauded the family for building the 4 day event into a national showplace for late model and local drivers, and continuing to make improvements to benefit the sport and the fans.

Bubba Pollard’s Season Ends With Record Derby Pole Run

19 Wins Leaves 2011 Behind as a Memorable Season www.bubbapollard.net Bubba Pollard's 19 wins coming into the 44th Annual Snowball Derby Weekend made him an early favorite for the win in the prestigious 300-lap event and also the 100-lap Pro Late Model Snowflake 100. Ruston’s First Snowball Derby Ends With Overheating Issues
