The track office will reopen on Wednesday Jan 2nd. We will begin to take reservations for the banquet on the 12th, and accept reserved seat requests for the NAPA NASCAR K&N 150 in April
Our favorite diner, Waynes on Pine Forest Road will be the caterer for the annual banquet on Saturday January 12th. Wayne always brings lots of great food, and a dessert.
The Track’s top performers for 2012 received their Hoosier Champion jackets at the Snowball Derby, and they will be in the spotlight on January 12th. That’s the annual Awards Banquet at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds John Frenkle building. Reservations accepted beginning January 2nd.
One of my earliest memories is a day which took place when I was only 3 or 4. My dad had brought the family car-a 1951 Chevrolet-into his workshop. He had removed the generator and placed himself with his back to the car as he worked at the workbench. I found myself piddling around the shop. I guess I figured I should be doing something more than just wandering. So I, in my three year old voice, simply said “I help daddy”. “Sure son”, he said without turning around. In a moment he began to hear water running. When he realized the flow was not ending, he turned to see what was happening. In my desire to “help daddy” I had taken a long cabinet screwdriver, inserted it through the grill into the radiator and pulled down on it—not once, but five or six times! There was water everywhere. I want to thank all of you for your well wishes after winning the 45th Annual Snowball Derby! The fans who attend the Derby are some of the best around. You all pack the place whether it is beautiful and sunny or freezing cold.The atmosphere is like no other race and I can’t thank you enough for supporting the track and racers. I would also like to thank the Bryant Family for providing one of the finest racing venues in the country. This is definitely the biggest win that I have ever had in my career and it is more than I could ever ask for Christmas.
