Pit Crew member Jason Fay and Veteran Driver Steve Britt Pass

Funeral Services for Jason Fay will be at the Serenity Funeral Home in Theodore on Friday March 7th at noon.  Friends may call prior to the service. Jason died in a car crash last Sunday. He was involved with racing at both Mobile and 5 Flags.  Modified driver and close friend Mike Maddox says of Jason...”He drove the transporter for Brendan Gaughan first, then Kenny Schrader, also Ricky Carmichael. Worked with Van Rayburn when I first met him in the early 90's. Also worked with Grant Enfinger. Worked with me from the early 90's until he passed. Through his racing endeavors he was the best help I've ever had and would always be there for me at the race shop or racetrack. Always tried to get me to go race even when we couldn't afford to. He will be greatly missed by all of our racing family. FAIRHOPE’S ENFINGER WINS ARCA IN DAYTONA

Grant Enfinger brings a Daytona victory home when he headlines the drivers in the MOBILE ARCA Race in March. He won the Mobile 200 last spring. Enfinger, grabbed his 3rd ARCA checkers on Saturday on the famed course at Daytona International Speedway. He led over half the race...42 of the 80 laps.  Chase Elliott finished 9th, and Mobile’s  Thomas Praytor had to settle for 31st finishing spot after his transmission failed.  The ARCA 200 at our sister track,  MIS opens the Mobile season on March 21-22

Spence Retires from Teaching to Focus on Competition Director’s Role with Southern Super Series

By Chuck Corder Nancy Spence doesn’t worry about her recently retired husband of 40 years. A man surrenders his vocation and some search desperately to fill the void left behind. Mrs. Spence believes — perhaps hope is a better word — she has the cure to fight off boredom. “I’m going to leave a long list in the morning,” said Nancy Spence, who teaches science to high school students at UMS Wright in Mobile. “We’ll see how that goes.” Plus, there’s always racing. “Racing was always his avocation,” Nancy Spence said. “He loves it. And he’s good at it. It’s something he always wanted to do. SNOWBALL DERBY WINS AGAIN AS BEST ANNUAL SHORT TRACK RACE IN AMERICA; TOM WILSEY PHOTO HONORED AS BEST ACTION SHOT OF YEAR!

The month of voting on SPEEED 51.COM has ended, and the results are in. Among the winners are three 5 Flags Speedway events. Snowball Derby again named Best Annual Race in the USA. Crash of Cody Karl and Troy Grisaffi resulting in fire captured on film by our track photographer Tom Wilsey as the best wreck action photo of the year. DQ of Chase Elliott’s car after winning the 2013 Snowball Derby as the biggest surprise of the racing year. We also finished 3rd for the best local track web site in America. Daytona’s NASCAR truck race can’t get here soon enough for George Bragg

George Bragg wishes it started sooner. "I told somebody yesterday, I can't wait to get to the racetrack," Bragg said. "Usually, you worry about everything on your list and wishing you had an extra week. When you do as good as we did last time, you can't wait for it to get here so you can do it again. "We're living the dream of anybody who's ever had a passion for racing right now. We're really blessed to be able to do this."
