Bell Aiming to Cap Off Stellar Season with Snowball Victory

October 28, 2015 • App, Archives, Snowball Derby, Ticker Christopher Bell has had one heck of a 2015 season with wins coming in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on the dirt at Eldora, and in a Super Late Model on the high-banks of Winchester Speedway in Indiana.  There’s only one way to cap off this season, and that’s with a win in the 48th Annual Snowball Derby on December 6.   That’s what the Norman, Oklahoma native has his eyes on as he’s set to make his Snowball Derby debut this year driving the No. 51 for Kyle Busch Motorsports at Pensacola, Florida’s Five Flags Speedway.   “It would be huge (to win) with it being only my first career start in the Snowball Derby,” said Bell.  “To win would be really special.  That would be a dream come true.”   Bell raced during Derby week in 2014, but he ran the Pro Late Model [...]

October 29, 2015 • 51 Sports Stop, App, Archives, Late Models, Snowball Derby, Ticker Less than one year ago, Dalton Sargeant entered the 47th running of the Snowball Derby as a relatively unknown name in the short track racing world.  Driving for car owner Richie Wauters and Wauters Motorsports, the Boca Raton, Florida driver surprised everyone by crossing the finish line second on that day in December.  This year, following a successful NASCAR K&N Pro Series East rookie season and his debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, he’ll head back to Five Flags Speedway on December 6 as a well-known name looking to improve his finish by one spot.   “The Derby is definitely one of the biggest races of the year to run and I think we had a really good performance last year coming home second,” said Sargeant.  “Overall, for my first year of stock car racing, that [...]

October 22, 2015 • App, Archives, Late Models, Snowball Derby, Top Stories Just four days ago, NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Daniel Hemric was able to strum a chord for the first time on his new trophy guitar that he received for winning the All American 400 Pro Late Model race in Nashville, Tennessee.  Now Hemric is looking ahead and fantasizing about a kiss.  Some would say that he’s probably thinking about his wedding day with fiancée Kenzie Ruston, but before he gets to that day he has to first go to the Snowball Derby where he has a chance to kiss the Tom Dawson trophy for the very first time.   The Kannapolis, North Carolina driver can’t wait until the day he can at least hold that legendary trophy in victory lane at Five Flags Speedway.  This year he has a chance to do that on December 6 racing the [...]
