Taking the Next Step: Pure Stock Driver Dority Readies for Greatness, Fowler Enjoying Leap to Trucks

With the Five Flags Speedway season opener rapidly approaching this Sunday afternoon, just like last March, the 26-year-old Pensacola driver has her eyes squarely affixed on big dreams for 2018. “If it wasn’t for effort and time, I wouldn’t be where I’m at right now,” Dority said. “Time. Effort. Blood, Sweat. Tears. And, most importantly, the support of this amazing racing community.” She’s not the only one who has poured out their soul this week, making final adjustments before Sunday arrives. Hotshoes in four classes, including the Lloyd’s Glass Pure Stocks division that Dority competes in, will kick off the racing season at the famed half-mile asphalt oval season with Cat Country’s Fan Appreciation Day at 2 p.m. Sunday. By popular demand our entire grandstand seating area is now smoke free. There will however be designated areas close by for those who wish to have a smoke or vape break. Additionally, the Turn 5 Tavern is not included in the Smoke Free areas, and there will be an area in the back of the Spotter's stand, where Spotter's only can catch a smoke.

3 Double Headers for Pro Lates in 2018

Gulf Coast Triple Doubles for Pro Late Models Five Flags Speedway officials announced today, in conjunction with the new management of Mobile International Speedway, three dates on the 2018 racing schedule that will comprise the Gulf Coast Triple Doubles for Pro Late Models. The three doubleheader weekends will consist of 100 Lap races on Friday Night at Five Flags, then move 80 miles west to Mobile for the same event on Saturday Night.  Each night will pay $3000 to the winner and additionally, there will be $500 in Gulf Coast Bonus Bucks paid to the driver with the best two night average finish. The first of the three doubleheaders will be on March 30 & 31, while Race #2 will be on July 6th & 7th.
