Thompson Seeks to Continue Title Streak

Randy Thompson is a winner.

That’s not just a cliché. For the last four years, the Cantonment driver has claimed a track championship at Five Flags Speedway.

After three consecutive Sportsman Division titles from 2007-09, Thompson hoisted the Super Stocks crown last year. He held off a late charge from Pensacola’s Earl Polk by just 10 points.

The Super Stocks will be a part of the Opening Night festivities at the half-mile asphalt Friday.

Thompson will once again face stiff challenges in order to successfully defend yet another title. Mike Moore, John Schuffler and Shannon Jackson return along with newcomers, such as Bubba Winslow, who like Thompson has moved up from the Sportsman series.

The Super Stocks will race seven times this season with May 13 being a special, 50-lap event.
