These Wings Fly Low!!!
Red, White, and Blues Week is one of the most anticipated times of summer in the Pensacola area. The Independence Day celebration continues on long after the 4th of July, with the Annual Blue Angels Air Show on Pensacola Beach during the days, and the return of the TBARA Winged Sprint Cars to 5 Flags Speedway on Friday night. The racing action will also include a full program of Sportsman and Bomber action, plus a special Black Flag Race for the Super Stocks. In addition, the extremely popular “Meet The Drivers� program is on the same card. For those unfamiliar with this event, all the Racing machines and their drivers are lined up on the front straightaway prior to the first race, and spectators are allowed onto the track to see these cars and drivers up close and personal. Drivers typically pass out autograph cards and various other items to the fans.
The hi-horsepower, alcohol burning Sprint Cars will be turning the fastest laps of the year, and several drivers have stated their intention to eclipse the existing track record,set by Brian Gingras last March. Entries for this event will include current TBARA points leader Shane Butler, Sprint Car legend Dave Steele, Gulfport, Mississipp’s Todd Fayard, and a host of others. Over 20 Winged Warriors have confirmed intentions to compete.
