51 TV, Five Flags Lift Local Blackout of Snowball Broadcasts

Speed51TVR1Every fan in every location will have the opportunity to watch the 51 TV live video broadcast of the 47th Annual Snowball Derby as Pensacola, Florida’s Five Flags Speedway has reached a level of ticket sales to release the local blackout region for the Snowball Derby broadcast on 51 TV.

Originally, potential purchasers of all the 51 TV live broadcasts of the Snowball Derby action December 4-7 within a 150-mile range of the Pensacola, Florida track were to be blacked out of viewing the broadcast.  With reserved seats being sold at a record pace and the increasing demand of the nation’s most prestigious short track race being available to a live video broadcast audience, the blackout has been lifted.

“The demand for Snowball Derby tickets has been at an all-time high, as has the interest in a live video broadcast that 51 TV is providing this year, so we’re proud that both have been well-received so far even before Snowball week officially begins, said Tim Bryant, Five Flags Speedway General Manager and promoter of the Snowball Derby event.  “There are still general admission seats available for Derby Sunday and more tickets remain for all the other Snowball Derby week events.  At the same time, it’s great that we can offer a live broadcast to race fans everywhere who may not be able to make it out to Pensacola this week.

Like blackouts placed on live broadcasts of other professional sport leagues, a blackout that was originally in place for fans within 150 miles of Five Flags Speedway.  The high demand for the Snowball Derby live broadcast, paired with the swift sales of Snowball Derby tickets, have allowed the broadcast to reach every fan, everywhere.

“We’ve had a lot of positive feedback about the live broadcast both from fans in the Pensacola region, across the country and beyond, said Speed51.com founder and motorsports broadcaster Bob Dillner.  “There are some great race fans in the Pensacola and Mobile area that have been snatching up tickets to the Snowball Derby in recent weeks.  Others who can’t make it to the track now can experience it on 51 TV so that they can clear their schedules to attend next year’s Snowball Derby.

There are still reserved tickets available for the Sunday, December 7 Snowball Derby main event, but they are going fast.  General admission seats and pit passes remain available for Snowball Derby Sunday as well as the rest of the Snowball Derby week, remain available as well.  To purchase tickets, call the Five Flags Speedway box office at 850-944-8400.

51 TV will feature a live “Signature broadcast of the historic 300-lap Super Late Model Snowball Derby on Sunday, December 7, as well as the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 on December 6 and all other preliminary feature event throughout Snowball Derby week.  All events will air on a pay-per-view basis, with a four-day package that includes a live video broadcast of every feature event throughout Snowball Derby weekend available for just $54.99.  The pricing options between single-day and the four-day package are at comparable rates to general admission tickets to witness the action in person at Five Flags.

Individual-day packages are also available.  Fans can tune in to Nash 102.7 Pole Night action, featuring time trials for the Snowball Derby and feature events for the Five Flags Super Stocks and Modifieds, on Friday, December 5 for $14.99.  The December 6 Allen Turner Snowflake 100 qualifying and feature events, along with the Snowball Derby last-chance qualifier event and the Pro Truck division feature, is available on Saturday for $19.99.  A single-day viewing ticket for the 47th Annual Snowball Derby on Sunday, December 7, is $24.99.
