Snowball Finishers From Afar are Rewarded

Story by Speed 51
Three drivers from three different regions have one more reason to be pleased with their efforts at the 48th Annual Snowball Derby.  Cassius Clark (Northeast), Preston Peltier (West Coast) and Ty Majeski (Midwest) each earned $551 by being the highest finishing drivers with teams originating from their particular region during Sunday's race at Five Flags Speedway (FL).
The annual bounties for the three regions, which are put up by Speed51.com powered by JEGS, are offered in an attempt to bring more drivers from those regions to Pensacola, Florida for the biggest pavement short track race of the year.
"Drivers come from all over the country to be in this race.  For some drivers and teams, this may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Speed51.com owner Bob Dillner.  "We wanted to reward the highest finishers from these three regions who put in the time and effort to come compete in this prestigious race."
Cassius Clark, best known for his performance in the Northeast Super Late Model ranks, made the trip to Pensacola this year with King Racing based out of Nova Scotia, Canada.  The Farmington, Maine driver made his way into the race by charging to a qualifying spot in the last chance race before recording a solid 16th-place finish on Sunday.
Peltier, a North Carolinian originally from Frazier Park, California, showed up at Five Flags Speedway this past weekend with a small enclosed trailer with Colorado license plates.  That's because he was driving for car owner Eddie Vecchiarelli and the No. 48 Super Late Model team based out of Colorado.  That made him eligible for the West Coast bounty and his seventh-place finish ranked the best among West Coast competitors.
One of the biggest stories of the weekend was the performance of Wisconsin native Ty Majeski.  One year after spinning in qualifying, Majeski put the pedal to the metal to earn the pole for the 48th Annual Snowball Derby.  Majeski led 63 of the 300 laps and was a contender nearly all race long.  His third-place finish was the best among the Midwest contingent that showed up for the race.
"Cassius Clark, Preston Peltier and Ty Majeski are three of the best in Late Model racing from their respective regions," said Dillner.  "I've owned a team that competed in the Snowball Derby before and I know the money and time that it takes in order to compete in this race.  We offered up these bounties once again in order to help teams with some of the costs it takes to get to Pensacola for the Derby.  I'm hoping that all three drivers had a great time this weekend and will consider returning once again in 2016."
