VORES Compact Series Returns as Part of BIG 3 Day Weekend; 30+ Field List of Drivers Entered.

Pumped to be back!

Vore’s Tour Back in Pensacola, Part of Tripleheader Weekend to Kick Off 2025 at 5 Flags

Race week has officially arrived at Five Flags Speedway.
And not just any Friday night show. Five Flags will usher in the 2025 season with a jam-packed slate across three days of racing.
The tripleheader weekend revs its engine Friday night with four local divisions and the slate will find extra gears Saturday and Sunday when national touring series descend upon Pensacola’s high banks.
There will be a noticeable buzz around the famed half-mile asphalt oval on Saturday. The always popular four-cylinder, front-wheel-drive cars from the Vore’s Compact Touring Series (VCTS) powered by Mercer County Electric, Inc. return to Five Flags. 35 drivers have entered.

“For the last 14 years, Steve Vore has strived to take the best racers to the best tracks in the country and put on the most exciting races for fans,” said Dan Redmond, VCTS racing director. “We’re lucky enough to have great drivers that follow and support our series.”
The VCTS will battle in the Pest Doctor Bash at the Beach 40 beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday and share the stage with the ARCA Menards East Series machines for the Pensacola 150. The Faith Chapel Outlaws, Gulf Coast Real Estate Pro Trucks, The Dock on Pensacola Beach Sportsmen and Story & Bleich Roofing Crown Stocks gets the tripleheader underway at 8 p.m. Friday night. The ASA STARS National Series closes the weekend with the Sunshine State 200 on Sunday afternoon at 2.

Single-day tickets are available along with three-day packages. Please contact the track office at 850.944.8400 for more information.
“Five Flags is a very historic, bucket list track for a lot of our drivers,” Redmond said of VCTS hotshoes. “We’re proud and honored to say our four-cylinder, pro compacts have been on a lotta big tracks like Five Flags.”

Along with Five Flags, the VCTS has competed at iconic racetracks, such as Anderson (Ind.) Speedway, Nashville (Tenn.) Fairgrounds Speedway and Winchester (Ind.) Speedway. Its fields are made up of Hondas, Nissans, Fords, Chevys and others with the most popular choices being Honda Preludes and Civics.

While VCTS has midwestern grassroots, the 35 drivers for the Pest Doctor Bash at the Beach 40 on Saturday represent 10 states—including one Waldo, Fla. The winner’s purse pays $1,500.
“For traveling series, we believe it’s the most affordable one out there,” Redmond said. “At the same time, we take safety incredibly seriously. All VCTS car have to undergo technical inspection before each race.
“We want to make sure we keep our racers safe, so they keep racing with us.”
Last season’s VCTS competition saw eight different drivers capture checkered flags. All teams compete with a 1-inch air intake restrictor that are molded so they can’t be tampered with to level the playing field.
“It’s one of those things that makes the competition extra exciting for fans,” Redmond said of the restrictor.

Another thing that fans will be extra excited about is the collection of talent to start the engines at Five Flags all weekend long.
“This weekend is not the Snowball Derby, but with ARCA, VCTS and ASA in town along with the local divisions, it’s gonna make for one heckuva weekend of racing,” Redmond said. “VCTS is very honored to be a part of it.”
