Christensen Back in Victory Lane after PLM No. 3 Win; Steven Davis Remains Unbeaten

Clean air is a luxury at Five Flags Speedway. Its importance proved true once again Friday.
Seth Christensen liked it so much, he refused to give it up in the Allen Turner Hyundai Pro Late Model 100. The 17-year-old topped a field of 20 cars, led flag-to-flag and notched another big PLM victory at another big southern short track.
“It was an unbelievable car,” Christensen said. “We unloaded super-fast this weekend, and it was so good in the race. I’m so thankful to start and lead every lap.”
Plant City driver Colin Allman collected runner-up honors—one of his best career finishes at Five Flags—and Lynn Haven’s Jake Finch came home third.
Christensen now has wins at Pensacola, across the Bay at Mobile International Speedway and at Cordele (Ga.) Motor Speedway. The Pendergrass, Ga., driver won twice at Five Flags in 2024.
“We had so much success here last year,” Christensen said. "Hopefully, we can carry that momentum into September."
His victory is doubly sweet as it counts for his pursuit of the Kulwicki Driver Development Program championship. The program assists aspiring racecar drivers reach their goals and promote Alan Kulwicki's legacy.
By tapping Allen Turner Hyundai PLM 100 No. 3 as a “wildcard” race, Christensen snatched twice the points and closed in on a potential Kulwicki Cup title.
Christensen was nearly flawless Friday. He set the tempo alongside Finch—series points leader—in the first quarter of the 100-lapper. Christensen gradually opened up the lead while Finch began to protect against Allman and a series of other contenders.
Finch set the fast time in qualifying (16.770 seconds) but rolled a “2” to invert the field. That little bit of misfortune placed Christensen on the pole.
“The invert and me got some problems,” Finch said. “I guess I gotta go to the dice table and work on the roll.”
Lady Luck dealt him another blow when Allman passed him for second on Lap 70. Finch fought back to reclaim the spot a few laps later, but Allman eventually got around him for good on Lap 82.
The 27-year-old Allman made a valiant charge down the stretch at Christensen and the top spot—shaving off tenths of seconds each lap—but the gap proved too much to overcome.
“This was a huge run for us,” Allman said. “We’ve struggled up here the past few years. Tonight, we fired off and I felt like we were really good.
“We were good on the long runs. Seth just had a little bit more turn than we did. But finally getting a good run here feels great.”
Gulf Real Estate Group Pro Trucks
The smile across Steven Davis’ face was as wide as a barn door.
Perfection is rarely touched in racing, and sports in general. But Davis is on its doorstep in 2025 at Five Flags Speedway.
Four Gulf Real Estate Group Pro Trucks 25-lap features this season. Four wins for the Theodore, Ala., driver and two-time Pro Trucks Snowball Derby champion.
The latest in the collection came when he passed Matthew Laprade for the lead in Turn No. 2 on Lap 10 and cruised to another checkered flag.
“It’s been a good season,” said Davis, who has won 10 races between Pensacola’s high banks and his hometrack of Mobile International Speedway. “I’m just the one that’s able to hold the steering wheel.”
Laprade and George Gorham finished second and third, respectively.
The Dock on Pensacola Beach Sportsmen
Charles Davis turned the tables on Chad Robinson on Friday at Five Flags Speedway.
Davis, 65, scored his second consecutive 25-lap feature victory for The Dock on Pensacola Beach Sportsmen class.
“Must be something in the air down here,” Davis joked of his back-to-back performance.
Typically, it’s the sight of Robinson and his No. 32 red machine striking fear into his rivals’ rearview mirrors before blowing by them en route to Victory Lane. He appeared on his way once again Friday when he took the lead on Lap 7 of The Dock on Pensacola Beach Sportsmen 25-lap feature.
Davis had something to say on this night. After winning his first career race at Five Flags earlier in August, the Lapine, Ala., driver started sixth Friday.
While Robinson was moving into clean air after passing polesitter Patrick Logan, Davis was fighting his way through the middle of the 10-car field.
“I enjoy racing with these fellas,” Davis said. “They’re a good group to race with.”
He made mincemeat of that group Friday. Davis climbed to third on Lap 9 and slid under Logan for second on Lap 12. Almost immediately, he peeked under Robinson and as the pair reached Turn 1 on Lap 14, Davis made his move.
He passed Robinson, sailed away and made two in a row heading into Night of Champions 1 on Sept. 20.
“He’s got my number,” Robinson said of Davis. “I have to get my ducks in a row with him.”
Logan finished third, marking the Cordova, Ala., driver’s first career podium finish at Five Flags.
“There are some fast cars down here,” Logan said. “We had a good piece but just got freed up a little too much. Finishing top-three in this field of cars is something special. We’re busting are tails to compete with these guys.”
Story and Bleich Roofing Crown Stocks
The Salter brothers are quickly rising through the ranks of the winningest racing families at Five Flags Speedway.
Older brother Chris Salter got his first win of the year Friday when he captured the Story and Bleich Roofing Crown Stocks 25-lap feature. His victory gives the entry-level class its fourth different winner this season.
“It’s real tough to get a win here,” said Chris Salter, 35, who got his first checkered flag at Five Flags since June 2024. “We’ve all been following Adam, and he’s been putting it on us. I’m glad to get him back.”
“Adam” is his 29-year-old brother, Adam Salter, the series points leader with four victories. He officially finished second after Hunter Lambert was tossed following tech. Caleb Sanford rounded out the podium in third.
Chris Salter led every lap, keeping younger brother at bay throughout the night and defending Crown Stocks track champion Doug Thorpe Jr. in the early going. Thorpe’s night ended unexpectedly on Lap 11 with mechanical issues.
“When we started the race off,” Adam Salter said, “I knew at the drop of the green, I was gonna struggle tonight. I got too free. I didn’t have anything for my brother.
